Durga Navaratri

Dasara, Dusshera or dussehra or Vijayadashami  is celebrated at grand scale every year in Sri Durga malleshwara swamy varla Devasthanam.

Durga Puja is synonymous with Navratri,Sharad Navratri  which signifies goddess Durga battle over buffalo demon and emerges victorious to help restore Dharma.

Also the name Dussehra(Dasha-hara) is derived from Sanskrit, which literally means the sun will not rise (Dasha(sun) and Hara(defeat)) referring to Lord Rama’s victory over the ten-headed demon king Ravana.

Alankaras and Darshan Timings:




Chandi homam -> Rs.4000/- >Morning 8 AM to 12 AM.

Lakh kunkumarchana->Rs3000/-> 2 Batches: 7 AM to 9 AM, 10 AM to 12 AM (All ten days except 27th sept) ; General Darshan – 3 Am to 11 PM

On Moola Nakshtram(27th sep) ->3 Batches: 7 AM to 9 AM, 10 AM to 12 AM ,1 PM to 3 PM; General Darshan – 1 Am to 11 PM


Other Attractions:

Daily 4 Pm , there will be a Nagarothsavam, where goddess will be taken to the Hill, where you can view various culture activities like బ్రహ్మ రధం, బేతాళ నృత్యం , తాళ భజనలు, సంకీర్తనలు, కోలాట బృందము, నృత్య బృందము, వేద విద్యార్దులు, శాక్సోఫోన్స్ వాయిద్యం, కేరళ వాయిద్యం, నయాండ వాయిద్యం, సన్నాయి, చండీశ్వరుడు చిన్న పల్లకి, తిరుచ్చి- స్వామివారు-అమ్మవార్మ పల్లకీ, వేదపండితులు, ఘాటాటోపం .

Teppotsavam on swan shape boat with lights and place on the last day.
